To describe how the congregate care (emergency housing, feeding, clothing, and counseling) needs of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) students, staff and faculty would be met in the event of a disaster. To also describe the means whereby the congregate care needs for evacuees would be met (registration, decontamination, feeding, and housing) in the event of an emergency/disaster.
II. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES DISASTER OPERATIONS
A. The following government departments/private sector agencies are normally responsible for ensuring that the congregate care needs of disaster victims are met:
1. Emergency housing - American Red Cross
2. Emergency feeding - American Red Cross
3. Emergency clothing - American Red Cross
4. Counseling - American Red Cross
5. Emergency Medical - Advanced Life Support Units
The campus presidents (or their designees) working with local, state and federal organizations will be responsible for providing overall coordination of the congregate care function. The campus president (or their designee) will provide a representative for the local Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
IV. REPORTING LOCATION
All evacuees will be asked to report to the designated local congregation location. Local officials will assist with registration, decontamination, and reunion with family members Assistance with relocation will take place there.
